The Peace Of God

WHAT IS THE PEACE OF GOD?

According to Google, the definition of peace is 1. “Freedom from disturbance; tranquility.” 2. “A state or period in which there is no war or a war has ended.”

You might ask yourself, what is the difference? How is the peace of God distinct?.

The peace we speak about does not pass, it is perfect just like our creator. “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” John 14:27 NIV

In Google’s definition, peace comes when the disturbance is no more when there is no war, no fighting, and nothing in the way. But the peace of God remains even in the midst of the disturbance, even when there is war, there is peace. That is the difference, the peace of God is not circumstantial it is not something we acquire only at a certain time, but something we can experience at ALL TIMES.

Imagine going through a difficulty, family issues or a mental struggle, maybe a financial struggle; as we know, these things can surely be stressful and can deprive someone from their peace. Although all these things are going on around you there’s an indescribable calm and certainty in your heart that it will all be alright. Your nights’ sleep will not hinder due to the struggle because we leave it in God’s hands.

This is the peace we urgently need; God tells us to not trouble our hearts, Jesus is our protector. At any given moment; give it all to God.

The peace that we’re talking about surpasses all understanding. “And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:7 NIV. To the world, it may seem crazy that you can keep it together when life is chaotic, but this peace is above what we can think, imagine or even feel!

When you feel yourself slipping away, remember you have the peace of God. No devil or circumstance can take that away from you, it has been freely given to us as his children.

Blessings!
