I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” Psalm 91:2
One of the many blessings the Lord gave just today is our refuge. I thank God because today I woke up not only with renewed mercy but also with refuge!
ref·uge ( /ˈrefyo͞oj/ ) : a condition of being safe or sheltered from pursuit, danger, or trouble
These last times that we’re living are bad, dangerous, hard, unloving, and with no mercy — who is there to shelter us, to keep us from all evil? God! The psalmist said that HE is our refuge the God in whom we can trust.
These are not empty words or promises: “Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.” Psalm 91:1. One of the perks of dwelling in his shelter is rest, refuge, safety. There are many things seen and unseen that the Lord protects us from as his children.
Do not let fear hold a place in your heart, rather God’s word. Remind yourself that the Lord is with you and you are not alone. Today might be another battle, today might be another day where you really have to push but shout out to your refuge, shout out to Him who gives you the strength! Let no devil whisper to your ear that you are alone, in the midst of the storm just think the Lord has already won this battle.
If you’re in need of shelter, the Lord is available. His refuge is gratuitous, unwarranted; there’s no greater reason for God to shelter us than because he loves us. He loves his creation and wants us to draw near to him.
His love, mercy and protection literally hugs us today and will never let us go. Thank you god for your refreshing word!
“Let your character [your moral essence, your inner nature] be free from the love of money [shun greed—be financially ethical], being content with what you have; for He has said, “I will never [under any circumstances] desert you [nor give you up nor leave you without support, nor will I in any degree leave you helpless], nor will I forsake or let you down or relax My hold on you [assuredly not]!” Hebrew 13:5 AMP
Blessings!
