God’s Faithfulness
Great is His faithfulness to us!
“Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.” Lamentations 3:22-23
While meditating In the Lord His faithfulness came to my mind. This verse: “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16 has deep meaning and commitment. Imagine Christ being extremely committed and faithful to His will, to the Father’s plan to redeem the world. That He did not give up half way, as some do in this path.
We are immensely blessed to Serve a God who knows all things but has also been through it all. If the Lord calls us to be faithful, we can trust he knows what it is to be faithful until the end.
Was dying at the cross an easy task for Jesus? Not at all! It was not simply dying but also carrying the cross until the very end. If we look at this verse before this life changing event, Jesus find himself praying “Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but yours be done.” Luke 22:42.
I can only imagine Jesus; moment of truth sinking in. Soon He would have to endure one of the cruelest deaths known to mankind and found Himself wholeheartedly asking for His Fathers will to be done. Not only does Jesus teaches us to be faithful but obedient. “And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death— even death on a cross!” Phillippians 2:8 — real proof, Christ was human as you and I, but 100% God!
It is not crazy to say, Jesus understands your struggle, our struggles as human. He knew what it mean to have to endure, to obey, to submit and to be faithful.
“During the days of Jesus’ life on earth, he offered up prayers and petitions with fervent cries and tears to the one who could save him from death, and he was heard because of his reverent submission. Son though he was, he learned obedience from what he suffered”. Hebrew 5:7-8
God, help us to be faithful to you always. May we go to you when we are in need of courage, of a reminder. Help us to always trust in you and your word, although we may not understand what we’re seeing or going through we can trust you have good plans for us. Thank you Lord for your faithfulness!
