”If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed” John 8:36
I can truly rejoice in the Lord today, rejoice in the true freedom he has given us!
For me, this precious salvation is what we consider today a gem. Truthfully it is beyond that but in my way of thinking my freedom/salvation is extremely valuable.
Growing up wasn’t exactly a walk in the park, living with a single mother raising 3 girls and having a schizophrenic father is a journey of its own. But one thing I know for sure, once I encountered Jesus I have never been the same. Honestly, even with all the hardships and mishaps that happen in life there’s this joy, internal freedom that simply abides in me.
”And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit” 2 Corinthians 3:18
Without noticing right away, my hearts’ posture began to change— If there’s one thing I love about the word of God is that it’s true. In the Bible verse above it states that we are being transformed into his image with ever increasing glory; meaning now that I am set free, there’s an never ending renewal inside of me that began and will remain.
It is out of question that once you encounter Christ, and abide in him that you will stay the same! The shackles are literally broken, the blindfold of the adversary is taken off. There’s new meaning to life, what once hurt you today makes you stronger. As a song says “you take what the enemy meant for evil and turn it for good”.
Take some time today to reflect on that change, to reflect on your salvation that has been so freely given. It is with true testimony that we speak of our Lord and savior Jesus Christ. Not only is He someone that I was taught growing up but, the person who I’ve experienced that turned my life around!
”For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: …” Romans 1:16
Blessings!
