To Be Merry

mer·ry /ˈmerē/

adjective

  1. cheerful and lively.

To be merry is to have true happiness in our hearts. In this season while we celebrate with our loved ones, we celebrate Him who gives us true joy and peace. “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives.” John 14:27. Christmas we celebrate the birth of Jesus, the son of God. We don’t really call it His birthday as the day He was born isn’t recorded; but we He is the reason for the season.

In all aspects on this holiday can we receive joy. Needless to say we have the joy of our salvation, the joy of the Lord who helps us “…for the joy of the Lord is your strength.” Nehemiah 8:10 but also with our family, gathering together. Some we might not see until this time around every year but a moment to always remember. The delicious food, the matching pajamas and quality time spent together. We cannot forget the joy of the little kiddos smiles mainly because of the gifts.

This holiday season I pray you’ll have many moments of Joy. Even in the hardest times, may the joy of the Lord abound in your hearts. I pray for those who have none in this season, may the love of the Lord reach them in in their hearts and also in their tummies. May they be graciously be filled by you oh Lord. Thank you Lord for your only begotten son, who was given to us to redeem us. Thank you for true happiness. Thank you for it all. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Jesus is the reason for the season …

Many blessings & Merry Christmas!
