“But if serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve… But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.”Joshua 24:15
We continue purposely allowing space for our savior at home. As a team, my husbands’ and I desire is the same as the writer in this chapter; no matter what the world may seem like at the moment. No matter who is serving who around us, my house and I will serve the Lord! It is solely up to us as parents to guide our children in the walk of truth, but we can only make that happen if we allow the Spirit of God to guide us.
The book of Amos 3:3 asks this open ended question, “Do two walk together unless they have agreed to do so?” the importance of being under one mindset is following the same Spirit of God, the same feeling, the same truth. All things align in Christ, this being said, can we not be ourselves at home? 1,000% being ourselves is being in Christ. When we allow Christ to take His place at home there are certain things present in our family like love, happiness, respect, kindness, understanding, provision, devine protection, unimaginable peace. This may sound like a fairytale to others, at one point it did for me. Not coming from a complete/ entirely Christian household made me see what it looks like allowing Jesus to be the center at home.
Allowing Jesus to take His space at home is allowing for His will to be done in our home/ lives. Having our own personal relationship with Christ is a mayor roll in this. I cannot be like Christ at home without being intimate with the Lord. The love of Christ is not impossible to reign in our lives. The Lord says “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” Joshua 14:27 all these things are true to those who allow Christ to take his place. If Christ reigns at home, his truth will reign also. To not make this post any longer i pray the Lord may continue to reveal himself to us. May we continue allowing Him into our homes. May we remember him always. May no disappointment in life , nothing at all separate us from your truth. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
Blessings!
