Good Evening reader! We are so grateful to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for allowing us to live through another day.
The word of the Lord has been ministering lately about making Him space. Space in our minds, our thoughts, our feelings, our worship, our household. The word of God says …
“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” Romans 15:13
When we make space for the Lord, we overflow in love, joy, and peace. I was asking myself, what does that look like? In my current situation, what should I do to continue to make space? Life can be so busy, with many things that need to get done, a whole lot of work that can’t be abandoned, and a family to nourish. Speaking honestly, there are times when I do my morning devotional and go on about my busy day, listening to worship music along the way, but with all worries, lists, and tasks in my mind. This is how the Lord suddenly spoke to me …
Making space doesn’t only include a morning devotional and prayer time before bed, but also throughout the day. It includes taking a minute to acknowledge Him. Before any big project, we put Him first. If I’m frustrated, I talk to the Holy Spirit. If I’m in a bind and don’t know what to do, I talk to the Holy Spirit. Making space can be a “thank you, Jesus,” or “Lord, I need you” throughout the day. It can be doing a generous act, letting the Lord use us to bless others.
I pray for abundance this week; may we make room for those things that are of God. Although we’re not where we want to be, we can remember how far He’s brought us through. Help us, Lord, this week to train our minds to make room for your joy and peace, make room for those things you have already set forth for us, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
Blessings!
