Renewed Strength

Isaiah 40:31

but those who hope in the Lord
    will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint.

As a new week begins, God offers you more than just a fresh calendar week. He offers fresh strength. The strength required is not something you must manufacture—it is something He provides

Isaiah 40:31 reminds us that renewal doesn’t come from pushing harder or striving in our own power, but from waiting on the Lord.

To “wait on the Lord” doesn’t mean sitting still; it means leaning into Him, resting in His presence, and expecting His help. It’s a posture of trust. When you slow down long enough to breathe in His Word and whisper His name, He meets you with the strength you need.

Isaiah 40:29

He gives strength to the weary

and increases the power of the weak.

reassures you that God gives power to the weak. He meets you precisely where you feel drained, stretched, or empty. When you come to Him, He doesn’t lightly encourage you—He infuses you with what you lack.

This week, God promises three things:

1. You will rise.

“They shall mount up with wings like eagles…”

Eagles don’t fight the wind—they use it. The very challenges that feel like resistance can become the wind beneath your wings when God carries you. He lifts you above what tries to weigh you down.

2. You will run with endurance.

“…they shall run and not be weary.”

There are things you must face this week—responsibilities, decisions, deadlines. But God says you won’t run in your own strength. His grace will pace you. His Spirit will energize you.

3. You will walk with steady faith.

“…they shall walk and not faint.”

Not every day feels like flying. Some days feel like simply putting one foot in front of the other. Even in those moments, He keeps you from fainting. His presence becomes your breath.

This week, choose to wait on Him first—before your day starts, before worry rises, before exhaustion speaks. When you do, He fills you with a strength this world cannot give and cannot take away.

Prayer for the Week

Father, as I begin this new week, I choose to wait on You. Renew my strength. Lift my spirit. Guide my steps. Let Your presence go before me, Your peace surround me, and Your power sustain me. Help me rise above every challenge and walk in Your grace. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
