Ephesians 4:29
“Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.”
Proverbs 18:21
“Death and life are in the power of the tongue…”
Every single day, we speak words that shape the atmosphere around us. Some words tear down. Some words build up. Some words linger in hearts for years. God reminds us that our speech should give life — not just fill space.
Before you speak, pause and ask:
✨ Is this helpful?
✨ Is this kind?
✨ Is this needed right now?
Because not every true thing needs to be said in every moment. And not every opinion needs a voice.
💔 Words Can Wound A harsh tone. A sarcastic joke. A frustrated outburst.
Those moments may feel small to us — but they can sit heavy on someone else’s heart.
🌸 Words Can Heal A compliment. A prayer. A simple “I’m proud of you.” A gentle response instead of a sharp one. That’s how we become carriers of God’s grace in everyday conversations. Your words might be the encouragement someone prayed for this morning.
🙏 Today’s Prayer
Lord, help my words bring life, not harm. Teach me to speak with grace, wisdom, and love. Use my voice to strengthen someone today. Amen.
💡 Heart Check
Are my words today producing life… or death?
Choose words that build.
Choose words that heal.
Choose words that sound like Jesus.
