Good morning Reader!
What a beautiful day to be alive and well. Let’s remember what the word of God says in …
“He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.” Psalm 147:3
I think this Bible verse is very deep and has multiple parts to it. First, we can look at the word restoration; it is not necessarily in the verse, but with healing comes restoration. When looking at the definition: “A restoring to an unimpaired or improved condition” (Merriam-Webster Dictionary), when we think about God blessing our families, we sometimes only think about the monetary aspect, the material things. But He not only blesses in that way; He also brings healing/restoration. He brings back, turns the family to an improved, unimpaired condition.
Yes, it is this serious; “normal” doesn’t have to be hurt, anger, betrayal, or confusion. When we add Christ to the equation, inner healing begins, and also healing for the family begins. He heals the brokenhearted… some people think that God is far from the brokenhearted, but the word of the Lord tells us “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” Psalm 34:18. If anyone is brokenhearted or quite literally crushed in spirit, the Lord is close to listen. It’s about opening up, talking to God, and accepting Him in your heart. Many believe the Lord is far, but He is so close; so many just do not know, and that is our mission today: we want you to know the Lord is near!
And binds up their wounds… when we’re looking at this phrase there’s a process. First, the wound is cleaned, then medication is applied, then it is CAREFULLY wrapped, and finally, while it is healing, the wound is being protected. This is a lot to unpack! The Lord is so thoughtful with His creation, so full of Love that He cares for us and our families. The Lord binds up the wounds, so while we/our families are healing, things may not be perfect, but there is now another element to the equation that wasn’t there before. PEACE. Yes, the peace that surpasses all understanding. That no matter the giant, no matter the lion, no matter the mountain, no matter the Red Sea. He is working, and that brings us peace.
Peace is our portion, the portion for our families, for our children, and future generations. But it is our decision if we want to draw near. It is work, but we want it that badly. We want restoration, we want healing, we want peace. Whatever is broken in your family today, the Lord can restore it.
“And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten…” Joel 2:25
The Lord will restore the years, days, nights, and hours that pain, sorrow, depression, anxiety, and trauma have stolen. We pray this morning for any families that are broken, families that want to draw near but do not know how. I pray you touch them this morning, Holy Spirit; may they find the way and never be the same. I pray for healed families, that what seems doomed or a lost cause comes into restoration. I declare families walk into their restoration, their peace! I pray for every family and person reading this; may the Lord swing open the doors of faith and healing, and in this week, may they see the hand of the almighty God work in their favor. Show us, Lord, this week the triumph you have already given to our families. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
Blessings!
