Prayer Changes The Atmosphere of Your Home

“Holy Spirit You are welcomed here, come flood this place and fill the atmosphere, Your glory God is what our hearts long for, to be overcome by Your presence Lord”

Prayer, prayer, prayer… such a powerful key. Prayer is a tool that is used at all times, in the good and the bad. Prayer prepares us, changes us. Sometimes we are very worried about everything going on around our homes; both mom and dad, or just mom or just dad, are stressed. So many things to worry about; sometimes we sit and obsess over things we cannot change and forget to actually pray about it. The word of God says …

“Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.” – James 5:16

The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective; sometimes arguments, or to put it in a better perspective, discussion is very important. Communication is another key, but after so many words being said, the best thing we can do at home is pray. Pray for clarity, pray for next steps, pray for a clear mind. Prayer is so powerful that it causes a shift.

The atmosphere in our homes is very important, especially when children are involved. We’re not perfect; things are going to happen, but we are new people (2 Corinthians 5:17). We do not act like the world, and we do not talk like the world; so my home’s atmosphere must be one of glory, joy, and peace.

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” – Philippians 4:6-7

When we are in constant prayer, the peace of God guards our hearts. It is like our focus is only on righteous things. This is such a precious gift, the mere fact that we have access to heaven this way; I want heaven at home. Heaven in my children’s lives, a home where peace reigns, where love reigns, where grace reigns. The order of heaven is the order of our home. We have the responsibility of shifting the atmospheres in our homes.

Father, we come before You as one. We give You thanks for keeping us, keeping our children. Thank You for Your never ending grace and the great gift of salvation. We present our homes before You; help us to live in a way that pleases You and to worship You in spirit and in truth. To pray without ceasing, teach us, Holy Spirit, to live in Your presence. We want to be intimate; we want to submit. We want to pray fervently, let our homes become places where Your presence dwells daily. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Blessings!
