God Is Working In The Waiting

Oh, how we’ve been tested and tried during times of waiting! Whew, the waiting season can be extremely difficult and desperate. A huge wave of emotions often washes over us during this time. However, today the word of the Lord reminds us that a delay does not mean denial. While we wait, we are being prepared and ripened, and this is when the promises of God begin to unfold.

…Though it linger, wait for it; it will certainly come and will not delay. Habakkuk 2:3

It can be tempting to feel discouraged at times, especially when we are praying for healing, breakthroughs, restoration, or some form of provision, and those answers haven’t come yet. However, as His word says in Habakkuk, “it will certainly come.” Earlier in the chapter, it mentions that revelations come at the appointed time. This suggests that there is an expiration date to our waiting. In eternity, your victory and answers have already been appointed.

Thank you, Lord, for our waiting seasons, which help us build our faith and character. Lord, I feel like I’m hanging by a thread, as some might say, but this is where our faith begins to increase; it is the only thing we have. At times, I think about how a child desperately wants something and will eventually receive it, just not at that exact moment. They must change their attitude and behavior; that change comes through waiting. This means we are being prepared before we receive, ensuring that we do not get any premature blessings. It is important to make sure that my posture and position are correct.

If there’s one thing that’s certain, it’s that God’s promises still stand, even when the timeline looks different from what we expect. We can look at Abraham, who waited many years for Isaac; Joseph, who only dreamed before rising to power; David, who was anointed as king long before he took the throne; and our friend Hannah, whom I mentioned in my previous post, who persistently prayed before receiving Samuel.

If there’s anything to take away here, it is that the Lord is working in our waiting!

Blessings!
