Life is full of ups and downs. There are seasons when everything seems to be going well, and there are seasons when the weight of life feels almost unbearable. Disappointment, loss, uncertainty, and waiting can tempt us to lose heart.

Yet, as believers, we are called to endure—not by our own strength, but by faith.

David understood what it felt like to be overwhelmed. In the middle of his trials, he made this powerful declaration:

“I would have lost heart, unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.”

— Psalm 27:13 (NKJV)

What kept David going was not the absence of trouble; it was the certainty that God was still good. Faith gave him the confidence to believe that God’s goodness would be revealed, even before his circumstances changed.

Maybe you’re in a season of waiting. You have prayed, believed, and trusted, but the answer hasn’t come yet. Be encouraged—God is never late, and He never forgets His promises.

The prophet Isaiah reminds us:

“But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.”

— Isaiah 40:31 (NKJV)

Waiting on the Lord is not wasted time. It is a season where God strengthens our faith, builds our character, and prepares us for what He has promised. He gives fresh strength to those who continue to trust Him.

The Bible also gives us another beautiful picture of faith:

“Those who trust in the Lord are like Mount Zion, which cannot be moved, but abides forever.”

— Psalm 125:1 (NKJV)

Mount Zion stands firm. Storms may come, winds may blow, and rain may fall, but it remains unshaken. That is what God desires for His children—not a life without storms, but hearts that remain steadfast because they are anchored in Him.

Jesus taught that the sun rises on both the evil and the good, and the rain falls on the just and the unjust (Matthew 5:45). Trials are a part of life. No one is exempt from difficult seasons. The difference is not who experiences hardship, but who they rely on in the middle of it.

When our hope is in Christ, our circumstances no longer define our future. God’s promises do.

If today you feel tired, discouraged, or ready to give up, remember this: your trial is temporary, but God’s faithfulness is eternal. The God who has carried you this far will continue to sustain you. He is still working, even when you cannot see it.

So keep praying.

Keep believing.

Keep worshiping.

Keep waiting on the Lord.

Your strength will be renewed.

Stand firm like Mount Zion.

Don’t lose heart, because you will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.

Prayer

Father, thank You for being my strength when I am weak. Help me to trust You in every season and to endure by faith. Renew my strength as I wait on You, establish my heart like Mount Zion, and remind me daily that Your goodness is greater than my circumstances. I choose to believe that You are working all things together for good. In Jesus’ name, Amen
